Wilco de Villiers

As Energy Solutions Director of Yellow Door Energy, Wilco collaborates with leading businesses in South Africa to bring them electricity that is secure, affordable and from cleaner sources of energy. He has over twenty years of progressively senior management roles in renewable energy, mining, telecommunications, amongst other industries. An electrical engineer by training, Wilco combines his technical expertise with MBA-certified business acumen to deliver tailored solutions to his customers. 

Prior to joining Yellow Door Energy, Wilco spearheaded the growth of the mining energy division of DRA Global in South Africa, where he developed customized energy solutions for the mining sector. He also specialized in battery energy storage system (BESS) and hybrid solutions through his consultancy and tenure at SMA Solar Technology, Powermode and Powertech Battery Technologies. 

Wilco holds an MBA from Stellenbosch University and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from North-West University in South Africa.
